Books

Tomorrow I am heading out to do a little market research. I am actually looking forward to hanging out in the kids section and checking out the competition. I love to read kids stories and most of them have beautiful illustrations. It should be a very peaceful day and I am looking forward to it!

Stepping out

Sometimes the thought of going out there into the world and making a dream become a reality can seem very scary and confusing. What should I say? How will I present myself? What will they think? I find, the thing is, once you commit to it and just do it, it's usually not so bad and the feeling of accomplishment in the aftermath is the best motivation one can have. Even with the rejection that is sure to happen, it only makes success that much sweeter.

An Exciting Day!

Today has been very exciting, for both the country and myself. The winds of change seem to be blowing in the right direction, finally! A good meeting about Ruby Begonia and the fire is instantly ablaze. Good news about the Inauguration and the country is also on burning with hope! Very inspirational. I hope the positive flow of this pace continues.

A Mellow Monday

The calm before the storm. Tomorrow is a big, crazy day in history. Barrack O'Bama will become the 44th president of the United States. With a promise of change and creativity he brings hope to some and fear to others. Everyone has different ideas and opinions on what is right and what is wrong. The most important thing to remember is that it's not always going to work out the way you want it to, but it will work out. Sometimes something happens that, at first, seems like it is the worst thing that could possibly come to pass and then suddenly it turns out to be the best thing ever. Accepting reality and dealing with the present is the easiest way not to fall into a rut. If you just face, head on, what is the actual reality and take it by the horns, you stand a much better chance of coming out on top of whatever hill popped up in your path. To sit and brood about something that you didn't like or want is about as exciting and motivating as watching a clocks hand turn the time.

Wishful Thinking

Wishful thinking has such negative connotations, but I think it's an excellent phrase. We all think constantly, the chitter chatter of our brains skips from one thing to the next at an impressive rate. Though, it is imperative to think positively and aggressively about your constant reality- thinking wistfully and imagining all the different paths to your goals and future can be very refreshing and invigorating. I love dreaming up new ideas and expanding on old ones that have been filed in a dusty cabinet in the back of my mind. Some of the best stories and ideas have been born from an idea that some person may have told you was silly or outlandish. I say, don't let anyone rain on your parade. Think wishfully everyday!

A cold day

A winters day outside, blustery and chilly. I was thinking last night about how great it would be to get away to the Caribbean right now. I can almost feel myself sitting on a warm beach with the smell of sand and melting suntan lotion floating all around me. The sun is so hot, that every twenty minutes or so it is necessary to take a dip in the cerulean blue colored water. It would be a great place to relax and think about all that the future holds for me. But, for now, I will have to do my thinking in this chilly winter wonderland. I do hope to get there soon though...

Keep on plugging...

I'm working like crazy to get all my online stuff set up and it feels great!
I love bringing Ruby Begonia to life.
With the pictures in my mind becoming sharper, the energy just pours out.
So much to do, but definatley enjoying every step!

Stories

So, I was thinking about stories and what makes a really good one-
Is it the characters, the scene, the fluidity of the writing?
It has something to do with all of these things, but first and foremost, I think the Author has to have a connection with the writing. Whether it be something dreamed or something lived. To really engage the reader, the writer must feel the words as well.
